About Translation Days
Translation Days by the Sea is a joint project of Ralf Lemster, of Ralf Lemster Financial Translations GmbH, and Jerzy Czopik of TransDocu.
It was in 2010 that Ralf and Jerzy first felt that there was something missing among the many conferences and seminars offered for translators and interpreters. Programmes tailored to the needs of colleagues still building their businesses left little time for personal discussion, and somehow all looked the same. There was little they had to offer for established translators, and those cherishing a gentler pace.
That is why Ralf and Jerzy decided to host a first conference of their own, RuhrKo 2010. In 2013, they organised the Cracow Translation Days at the Benedictine abbey of Tyniec, 13 km southwest of Cracow. The success of both events called for a sequel: we are now looking forward to Translation Days by the Sea.
It is important to note that Ralf and Jerzy do not make money on the Translation Days events. Translation Days by the Sea is a non-profit conference, with every speaker choosing a charity; any net proceeds will be split equally amongst all the organisations selected.
